Loading:
Most dogs are capable of carrying up to one-third of their weight so start with a light pack and slowly increase the load as your dog gains strength and endurance.   Most importantly, do not overload your dog and do not exceed one-third your dog's body weight.  Use the water bladders and pack contents to adjust the load then adjust the straps as needed to allow for a balanced, comfortable load.

Built-in Water Bladders:
The Palisades Pack is equipped with two hydration bladders, one carried on each side of the pack.  The bladders help to cushion the dog from gear and food within the pack, keep your dog cool and can be used to trim and balance the load.

Compression Straps:
Secure your load by adjusting the compression straps and this will provide a more comfortable, compact carry.

Fitting:
The pack harness should have an all round snug fit for a stable load and to prevent movement or shifting of the saddlebags.  Be sure that each saddlebag has an equal and balanced weight load.  When fitting the Palisades Pack, remove the saddlebags from the harness for easy fitting and then reattach the saddlebags when finished.

Choose the smaller pack for a lighter load and less bulk.  Please do not use saddlebag capacity as your only sizing consideration - use the girth fit for best results.
