Measure around the widest part of the rib cage for your dog's girth.

Fitting:
Detailed directions come with your pack.  Make sure that each saddlebag has an equal and balanced weight load.  When the Approach Pack is properly loaded the leading curved edge of the pack and bulk of the weight will be carried over the dog's shoulders.  It should remain balanced and forward over your dog's shoulders.
